Healthcare Advisory Group Inks Heavy Activity Out West
LONG BEACH, CA - PM Realty Group (PMRG), a national, full-service commercial real estate firm, today announced the company has brokered four (4) separate lease agreements totaling over 20,000 square feet of medical office space at the St. Mary Physician's Center located at 1043 Elm Street, Long Beach, California. The 54,000 square foot medical facility is owned by Healthcare Trust of America (HTA) and is located on the St. Mary Medical Center hospital campus near downtown Long Beach. Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) operates the 415 bed, Level II trauma hospital.
CHW inked the two largest transactions of the four; a lease renewal for their 9,500 square foot surgery center and an expansion/renewal of their 8,500 square foot Comprehensive Aids Resource and Education (C.A.R.E.) program. The C.A.R.E. group is adding additional space to make room for an in-house pharmacy that will be open to the public.
"HTA is pleased to have Catholic Healthcare West continue as an anchor tenant in their project. The Hospital and its many departments provide vital medical services to the Long Beach community," said Mark Mattis, Senior Vice President of PMRG's Los Angeles office, Healthcare Advisory Group member and broker of HTA's four medical leases. CHW is the largest hospital system in California and operates over 40 hospitals and care centers in the Western United States.
In another expansion, the City of Long Beach added an additional 1,500 square feet to the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) office located on the 4th floor. The almost 5,000 square foot office now has a larger waiting area and modernized facilities for their clients.
Lastly, Medical Legal Management, a physician's service firm, committed to a 3 year lease for over 1,200 feet. The San Bernardino-based company moved into the project in mid-February.
