Doug Demiano is the Senior Vice President, Senior Director of Development for Madison Marquette. Prior to the June 2018 merger of PMRG and Madison Marquette, Mr. Demiano served as Senior Vice President of Development and Acquisitions. During his tenure at PMRG, Mr. Demiano oversaw more than $550 million in office building and mixed-use development projects. He manages the Houston development project team and works with the acquisitions team on underwriting and financial analysis of development projects.
Mr. Demiano brings more than 25 years of industry experience involving commercial, mixed-use, industrial and healthcare real estate markets. His expertise includes all aspects of leasing, site acquisitions, development, financial analysis, and property/facilities management.
Prior to joining PMRG, Mr. Demiano served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Real Estate for Amegy Bank of Texas (an affiliate of Zions Bancorporation). He was responsible for acquisitions, banking center distribution strategy and corporate office development for Amegy’s real estate portfolio, which totaled over one million square feet. He also worked with the bank’s REO group in repositioning assets and taking them to market for disposition.
Mr. Demiano holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University and a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Houston. He is a licensed Real Estate Broker in the state of Texas and is a member of the Building Owners and Manager Association (BOMA) and the Urban Land Institute (ULI). He has also served on several Hospital System advisory boards within the state of Texas.
In the role of Senior Vice President of Development and Investments, Mr. Smith generates national investment and development opportunities and complex acquisition and disposition strategies for PM Realty Group. Mr. Smith additionally executes development related initiatives and oversees the asset management function for PMRG’s healthcare division.
Mr. Smith’s prior experience most recently includes over ten years of healthcare development and investments with both Quorum Equities and Edge Realty Partners.
Smith came to PMRG having advised on a broad range of strategic issues, including healthcare/commercial development, joint ventures, mergers & acquisitions and the restructuring and divestiture of numerous assets. His assignments have included Fortune 500 companies as well as major healthcare systems including Yahoo, Target, Starbucks, McDonald’s, Neiman Marcus and Costco; Texas Health Resources, Baylor Healthcare System and Tenet Healthcare Corporation, representing an aggregate principal amount of over $1 billion.
Mr. Smith holds a dual BBA in Finance/International Business from Baylor University.
Peter Phillips assumes the position of Senior Vice President, Development and Construction Services and will oversee the execution of PMRG’s healthcare initiatives in the acute/sub-acute hospital sectors, medical office and outpatient facilities.
Previously, Mr. Phillips served as Vice President and Director of Construction Management for eight years at HealthCap and its predecessor entity.
During Mr. Phillips prior tenure, he has successfully managed the delivery of 24 healthcare developments, in 12 states, consisting of over one million square feet with collective budgets in excess of $300 million. These projects include general acute care hospitals, inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, long term acute care hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, medical office buildings, and assisted living and memory care communities.
Mr. Phillips holds a Master of Finance and a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from the University of New South Wales, Australia.
